Microsoft Azure is a great platform for cloud computing. You can make a virtual machine with some decent specs. In today’s tutorial, I am going to show how can make and manage your virtual machines in Azure portal. Let’s start first by creating a virtual machine, to create a virtual machine you need to login into you Azure subscription account. After successful login, you will be in your account portal.
I will be guiding you with both old and new Azure portals. I am also posting screenshots of each step so you could better know about it.
Now in old portal you will only one option of virtual machine.
In Azure, new portal you will see two options for creating a virtual machine.
Now we will create a windows virtual machines. Availability of virtual machines depends on your subscription type of Azure account. Process of creating virtual machine is pretty simple. Grab a cup of coffee to begin.
In First step you will click on New button in both portals.
Now after clicking new button next we can continue to creating virtual machine by choosing from gallery were you can choose OS type of your choice in old portal and in new portal you have to go down on Windows based a new window will open now you can choose OS type of your choice. After choosing your OS of virtual machine you have to give it a name ‘Windows 11’ just kidding :p, you can name it anything you want. I am going to create a Windows 10 enterprise N edition.
You have to provide some additional information about your virtual machines like UserName, Password in both portals. Carefully enter username and password we will using later to login into virtual machine after creation of virtual machine. In old portal, you have to select your virtual machine size that mean processor and ram size you can select it depending on your need. Higher the size cost more.
Now go to next step by clicking next arrow button in old portal and by clicking Create button in new portal.
In old portal, you must provide DNS name you can name it anything but be care full not to use any trademark name, Region of your virtual machine I will go with default you can choose another if you want, storage account if you have existing one you can use it otherwise you must create new storage account.
After providing all data required now to go next step, will ask to install or not Vm agent its good idea to keep it check and now you can go to final step here you will see the details of you virtual machine. Now it will start deploying your virtual machine.
This will take some time.
Enjoy your coffee until its finish deployment of your virtual machine.
Now continuing for Azure new portal, In next step you must choose size of virtual machine depending on your needs. After selecting size now you must provide DNS name you can name it anything but be care full not to use any trademark name, Region of your virtual machine I will go with default you can choose another if you want, storage account if you have existing one you can use it otherwise you must create new storage account. I will go with defaults.
Now press Ok then Azure will perform validation on your provided data. After successful validation press create button, this will start deploying your virtual machine. Take some time to complete have some patience.
After successful deployment, you will see your virtual machine in dashboard.
Now you can connect to your virtual machine and do your work.
For connecting through remote desktop follow this tutorial.
